The Christmas Soul

So much love. So much magic. So much family, tradition, stories, and hot chocolate.
If you must choose a New Year's resolution, why not choose to keep the soul of Christmas alive all year? Invite Generosity to share your home. Tell your family that you love them in as many ways as possible. With all the enthusiastic joy of heavenly beings , proclaim the most heart wrenching story of all time. I love getting lost in the magic of a good book. I love to drown myself in the magic of perfect heros, evil obstacles, miraculous triumphs, and happy endings. This life is full of non-heros, self-made evil obstacles with only small victories, and only the hope of a happy ending.

The world of Jesus, and of Paul, was one of heros, sacrificial love, ultimate triumph and defeat of evil, universal love, and an exquisitely crafted ending that is so amazing that it is beyond the imagination of the most talented author.

The life of a Christian is the calling of nothing less than the devoted, selfless life of a hero. A non-perfect hero, but one who points with the very aura of his being to the perfection of the most selfless,
most loving, most devoted Hero that ever was or will be. So often the 'magic' of the Christian life is lost on me. But then I see those special people who are not living, but Christ is in them. Those valiant soldiers who stand.
