The Battle

I don't know how many times I've heard the phrase 'Spiritual Warfare'. I never doubted its existence, but I also never knew what it felt like. I was sure I had never been attacked. I mean, I hadn't felt anything like that.

What if Satan could whisper in your ear? What if a major part of this Spiritual Warfare stuff is taking every thought captive and making it obedient to Christ?

Maybe it's just me, maybe I talk to myself, but I have a little voice that guides me. It nudges me, and sometimes I hear it talking. It warns me to be considerate with my phone usage. It reminds me that the people around me are more important than any app.

Very helpful, right?

WRONG!!! This 'helpful' voice only speaks when I'm reading my Bible app. Does it voice its opinion when I'm scrolling through Pinterest? NO. Facebook? NO!

I was shocked when I came to this conclusion, but the thought actually inspired me. This is our day-to-day battle. Sometimes it can get tiring, sometimes it's too much, but this battle is the fight for our salvation! Arm yourself with truth and faith; this battle is not hopeless, it's already won.

I challenge you to take your sword with you when you get ready in the morning. Deflect those lies, girl! You are a beautiful masterpiece, loved by many, but more importantly, loved by GOD.  Then, dress so that when people see you they aren't distracted by your outward appearance, but are drawn to your lovely personality and the source of your joy--Jesus!

I set the above picture as the lock screen for my phone. Every time I see it I am reminded and encouraged. I pray that this encourages you, too. After all, we weren't meant to fight alone, but together, as the body of Christ.
